An escort card is part of the wedding reception stationery suite.  This small card lists the name of a wedding guest and the guest's assigned  table number or table name.

Escort cards are arranged alphabetically at the wedding reception entrance.

It's important not to confuse the term ‘place card' with the term ‘escort card'.  An escort card identifies a specific table, whereas, a place card identifies a specific seat or ‘place'.
