Light &amp; quite delicious!<\/li>\n<li>Can and will melt \u2013 Not for hot months\/environments<\/li>\n<li>Not for hot climate \u2013 will melt!<\/li>\n<li>Less expensive than fondant<\/li>\n<li>Many wedding cake styles look just as good finished in buttercream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Fondant<\/strong> is the &#8216;secret sauce&#8217; to picture-perfect wedding cakes. It&#8217;s ingredients include sugar, corn syrup and gelatin to create a smooth, velvet-like appearance<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Very popular for modern brides<\/li>\n<li>Taste is so-so<\/li>\n<li>Not cheap! Famously difficult to work with; takes longer to apply<\/li>\n<li>Unless your clients are having an architecturally complex confection, skip fondant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Royal Icing<\/strong> consists of confectioners sugar and egg whites<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meringue, dries very hard, very quickly!<\/li>\n<li>Piped with icing bag, very intricate design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Marzipan<\/strong> &#8211; Popular in Europe, marzipan resembles fondant.
