This episode of Confetti Live! was hosted on a Saturday and as a result I got the opportunity to interact with listeners outside of the US, including — Botswana, Germany and Australia.  How cool!

Wedding Business Guide Live Session begins Sat. Nov. 16 [15:28]

I would love the opportunity to work with you in the next live session, beginning Wednesday, November 13 Saturday, November 16, 2013, of my Wedding Business Guide online training course.  The goal is to get you set-up and running with your own day-of-wedding coordination business in a matter of weeks.  Visit WeddingBusinessGuide.com for full details.

What is the Suggested way to Pay for Staffing Help? [22:21]

Typically I pay an hourly rate to event-day staff.  The rate varies depending on each person’s experience.  Just make sure to include this amount in the price that you’re quoting for your services to prospects and clients.  The Wedding Business Guide training course goes into much more detail about this topic. 🙂

Hiring Interns for your Wedding Business [32:30]

You can hire interns to do much more than hands-on wedding planning.  Consider bringing an intern on-board to manage the social media portion of your business (just what I need!).  As long as your wedding business is organized and set-up as a legitimate business — not a hobby — contact area colleges and universities to see what the process involves.

Wedding Idea Kit and Welcome Kit [35:05]

Years ago, I got the idea to send warm leads a package of free helpful wedding planning info.  I called it my Wedding Idea Kit and the response was amazing!  Once a prospect becomes a client, I send them a Welcome Kit. Learn more about the Wedding Idea Kit idea, here.

Hourly, Flat Rate or Percentage? [42:45]

The specific project you’re working on will determine which pricing method works best for your wedding planning business.  It’s possible you may offer all three (3) types of pricing throughout the life of your wedding planning business.

How do I deal with an Employer Finding out about my Sideline Wedding Business [45:10]

Because social media and the online world, in general, is so ubiquitous, just about anyone can find out about you and the projects you’re involved in.  If you prefer to keep your wedding business and your full-time gig separate, consider using another surname for projects related to your wedding business.  The celebrities do it; why not you?
